Birth Date/Name Length Correlation

I was born on May 8th which is 5/8 and my first name has five letters in it, while my last name has eight. Does this mean anything?

Number of letters in a name isn't correlated with the person's birthdate for numerology calculations.
Just because the correlation you noticed isn't used in numerology calculations doesn't prove it is without meaning. It may well have meaning in methods of numerology calculations I'm unfamiliar with or a meaning outside of numerology.
Next year, the number 3 is your personal year number. 3 is a number of creative expression. Perhaps the infusion of creativity will assist you in determining meaning in the correlation you asked about.
