Answer: (Responses to questions rely on the accuracy of the name and birth date provided with the question. Typographical errors or incomplete information can result in an incorrect response.)

In numerology, a name is used to calculate the numbers that represent certain tendencies and likelihoods.

Your name isn't holding you back because names don't do things like that. They don't actively do anything. Names just exist as representatives of certain energies.

Yes, the energies that names represent can hinder or help, depending on whether you're working against or with them. It's not the name, it's the energies it represents and the action the person is or is not taking. Even with a name change, the energies of the previous name are still present, existing in conjunction with the energies the new name represents.

The trick is to determine what energies the name represents and then work with the energies.

The first letter of your name tells me your outlook on life tends to be pragmatic and focused on building a secure foundation for the future. The first vowel of your name tells me you do so very much enjoy variety when you get a chance to experience it, especially the variety of meeting new people, trying new things, and doing things on a whim.

On the surface, being pragmatic and expressing a sense of personal freedom seem contradicting. The energies of your cornerstone number (the number 4, obtained from the first letter of your name), and the energies of your open heart number (the number 5, obtained from the first vowel of your name) are incompatible, it's true. Yet, the experience of living with and integrating the conflict of incompatible energies is how one grows, learns, becomes more mature, becomes wise.

The cornerstone and open heart numbers have less influence within your numerology chart than the major name numbers. I used them as an example because the energies presented by the numbers 4 and 5 are intrinsically incompatible.

The message is this: Understanding the various aspects of the energies represented by your numerology chart can provide much information about yourself and instill the kind of confidence such knowledge inspires.
