Name Change By Marriage
Question:
I am married and took my husband's surname. Should I calculate my numerology with my current name or the name I was born with? Thanks!
Answer: (Responses to questions rely on the accuracy of the name and birth date provided with the question. Typographical errors or incomplete information can result in an incorrect response.)
It depends on how much you identify yourself as the new name.
The energies represented by the name as first recorded at birth will always be with you. The new name is an addition of energies, not a removal of birth-name energies.
The more you identify yourself as the person with the married surname, the stronger will be the energies that name represents. When the new name energies are stronger, the birth name energies are less effective. But the birth name energies never entirely go away.
To answer your question, use the name you most think of yourself as. Which name would pop out of your mouth if you had to suddenly say it with no time to think? What would be the spontaneous response?
If you wish, you can get readings for both names every year or two. Compare the name aspects of the interpretations to see which of them is more you. It is likely that you'll see yourself more as your married name as the years go by.
