Inconsistent Name Numbers and Birth Date Numbers

In traditional Pythagorean numerology, the name and the birth date are two separate items. One was given to you and the other is the date of an event.

The name numbers generally address the makeup of who you are, inclinations, characteristics, outlook, tendencies — you as a person.

The birthdate numbers, where the life path number is also calculated from, generally address events and circumstances that occur as you live life.

It can be looked at this way, somewhat simplistic but a way to help understanding:

Your name numbers represent energies of you as a person. Your birth date numbers represent energies of events you are likely to experience.

There is nothing in the study of numerology that declares name and birthdate numbers should or must be consistent, opinions notwithstanding.

The numerical results of numerology calculations are pointers to, or representations of, certain energies — the energies depending on what was used for the calculations.

The energies are inclinations or tendencies that effect a subtle push or nudge. Thus, numerology can be used to see what's probable or likely.

The energies never demand. But they do respect free will. What you decide to do, they won't prevent you from doing. What you decide has an effect on you, they won't prevent from having an effect on you.

The number 8 is a wonderful number for a life path.

If you'll have a look at the table on the compatible and incompatible page, you'll see that the number 2, the number 9, and the number 8 are all compatible. Compatibility means the energies they represent don't interfere with each other.

You can happily follow an 8 career and know that the career will not adversely affect the energies represented by the 2 and the 9 — unless you think it does, which would be an effect of free will, not of the numerology energy itself.

Regardless what you decide to do or not do, the numerology energies will continue their subtle nudges. They will never force you to comply by living according to their resonance.
