Question:
Do it matter if I use a 'y' instead of 'ie' which is on my birth certificate?

Answer: (Responses to questions rely on the accuracy of the name and birth date provided with the question. Typographical errors or incomplete information can result in an incorrect response.)

In some cases it does matter. In others it might not.

When getting numerology readings, the best readings are generally obtained when the name on the birth certificate is specified. But there are exceptions, such as readings for the common name. And in some cases it doesn't matter because the spelling change isn't the first or second letter, such as cornerstone and open heart readings.

In informal circumstances, such as signing a friend's birthday card, it might not matter which spelling you use.

In other situations, such as legal papers, it would be prudent to get competent advice before assuming one or the other.
