The year of birth does have numerological meaning. It determines the number of the third of three life period cycles. (Yours is the number 22 and will begin with year 2017.)

The age itself has meaning in other calculations, like the life period cycles.

Let me point out that just because we humans tend to abbreviate year numbers doesn't make the year numbers different than they are. When a birth year is 1957, it doesn't magically become year 57 just because that's the way we refer to it. It remains 1957.

There are no numerological relationships that I'm aware of which relate a person's age to the year the person was born.
