It is natural for you to want the best for your son. A name can help or hinder a child's destiny.

If the name you gave your son when born is a name you felt was right at the time, then trust your instincts. Many factors come into play when a baby is named, not the least of it being the influence of the spiritual essence of the child itself.

Most, perhaps all but a very few, names children are given at birth is the right name for the children's destiny.

If a child's name is changed later on and the new name is in dissonance with the child's destiny, it could result in a harder and more frustrating life than it otherwise would have been.

Let me recommend letting your son gain maturity and then decide for himself whether or not to change his birth name, after he knows what is purpose is, not before. Instead of you second-guessing what the child's destiny might be.

Let it be your son's decision, when he is old enough to know what he really wants to accomplish in life.

Parents want the best for their child. What parents want for the child's destiny might not be the same destiny the child was born to experience or fulfill.

If you wish to proceed with giving your child a new name, see Naming Your Baby Using Numerology for information about how to proceed.

When a new name is assumed, the familiarity and comfort of the name determines how much the new name influences the person. Writing the name often can help. Using the name also helps. Thinking of the person as that name also helps.

The amount of influence of the new name, however, depends on how much the new name is accepted by the person with the new name.
