Significance of, and Mastering, the Number 13

Question:
I've been told my entire life about how "unlucky" the number thirteen is. Many in this culture believe it so strongly that they skip it or mitigate it where normally in sequence, such as the floor number in a high rise or a vessel from a fleet. However, as someone born on the thirteenth, I think it's downright silly! Yes I'm aware of Philip Le Bell and his plot on the Templars and all. But there's something more important than that about the number. It goes back to ancient times, I'm sure. The founders here in America where "wise" men. We had originally 13 states, represented by a flag with thirteen stars and thirteen stripes. And let's not forget Independence Day on July 4 (1+3). I've read somewhere recently a statement that basically said he who masters the number 13 masters life. My question then is what is the significance of my lucky number and how does one master it? Thanks in advance for your time!

The number 13 is a good numerology number. Among other things, the energy it represents is pragmatic, independent, and creative.

13 can be seen as representing the first triad and, thus, being a powerful number. Perhaps it got the reputation of being unlucky because its powerful essence is more than some people are willing to deal with.

There is no mastering of any number in numerology — unless "mastering" means being comfortable with the energy the number represents and being able to fully utilized the energy. To accomplish that, learn about the number 13 and your second life period cycle (which utilizes the single-digit, reduced number of your birth day}. Then, live your life the best you can, as the person you are.
