Q.
What should I look for in my life? It seems to me that I will never find neither a work nor a man that really would suit me. My name and the date of birth seem to have awfully lot of 9s. I once read somewhere that a 9 is not supposed to have personal happiness but instead to concentrate on giving to others without expecting any reward. I find that a very sad and lonely path, and more suitable for saints than for humans.
A.
Actually, there are the same number of 1's and 5's in the letters of your name as there are 9's. It's quite balanced, in fact.
Your birthday has the same number of 6's as it does 9's. It is not at all unbalanced.
Your name as a whole and your birth date as a whole both do resonate with the number 9.
Now let me say something. Any reading that only presents the negative aspects of the vibrations of numbers is withholding the best part.
Yes, it's true that the number 9's vibrations can be turned into unhappiness and the feeling of completion only in service to individuals. In their own expressions of negativity, so can most other single digit number vibrations.
The positive expression of the number 9's vibrations are natural abundance and feelings of completion and a joyous pursuit of bettering things, in small or large ways, for the human species as a whole. It includes the ability to see the big picture.
(The number 4 in your vowels position also gives you the ability to pay attention to details.)
Let me suggest that your innate sense of rightness and your inner sense of excitement may be better guides than any esoteric science, including numerology. The interpretations of these sciences are only guidelines, after all, not unbreakable laws about how you must or must not live your life.
If something doesn't feel right, don't buy into it.
