What does this number mean?

This question is actually from my husband. For the last year or so my husband has been seeing the number "69" frequentlty. In the beginning he would see it and then not for awhile, then it would be a few weeks where everywhere he looked it was there. From phone numbers, to billboards, to receipts. Sometimes all in one day he would come across this number up to six times! We have been looking into numerology and know that nine is a magical number and that 6&9 together is powerful. We wonder if someone is trying to tell him something or maybe we should play these numbers in the lottery. His s.s. # ends in a 69 and our phone number adds up to 69 in all the numbers put together starting with the first two and going on through. His birthdate is _________ I just found out that the brightest star(regulus) of Leo is 69 light years from earth and he is a leo. He just started working with a new man at his job & although he has never said anythibg to him about the number 69 -- the man said to my husband upon seeing the number69 " hey it's your lucky number" and just today my husband went to pick up his cell phone and lit up was 6969 he doesn't believe he could have accidently hit those buttons. There are to many to list but I sure would appreciate any input you may have.

69 is an interesting number, numerologically speaking. It contains elements of protecting society, desiring to help all of mankind, leadership, and new experiences. It's a definite slant toward helping mankind. It requires showing the way and will entail experiences never before experienced.
6969 reduces to the number 3. Three is the first triad number. 6 and 9 are the other two. Three posts or anchors are the minimum that can produce a stable foundation.
Your husband's birthdate also reduces to the number 3. Three is a number of creativity.
Beyond that I can not tell you. With your husband's name available, I might have been able to glean a bit more, but maybe not. I would venture to say that what your husband thinks it might be, whether or not he's spoken of this to anyone else, is probably what it is. Actually, it would be more correct to say, "what your husband feels it might be,..." because thinking about it might cover up the real feelings.
Note that feelings are always right. They might be misinterpreted, but the feelings themselves are right.
Oh, yes, one more thing. The 6 and the 9 placed touching next to each other could be perceived as the Yin Yang symbol viewed from the back side.
